Ingredients
The dish would need the following ingredients:
- A cup of small onions
- Three teaspoons of olive oil
- A cup of baby carrots
- Ten ounces of mushrooms in halved parts
- Two and a half cup of chicken broth and cooked and diced chicken
- A cup of frozen peas
- A fourth cup of sour cream
- Salt and pepper
For the biscuit topping one would need to have three forth cups of pastry flour and all-purpose flour, half a teaspoon of baking powder and baking soda and two teaspoons of sugar along with salt, dried thyme, one and a half tablespoon of butter, a cup of buttermilk and canola oil.
Preparation Method
The filling can be parred by heating the oil in a skillet where the onions are tossed along with carrots and mushrooms. The chicken broth is then added and brought to a boil and simmered with the cornstarch to thicken the sauce. Alter these peas, the chicken, salt and pepper and sour cream should be added in to complete the mixture. After this the biscuit topping should be prepared which means mixing all the pastry ingredients and then set on top of the mixture in a baking dish. The pot pie needs to be baked for a time period of thirty to thirty five minutes till the top is golden or the filling is bubbling.
