There is nothing more satisfying that meat based burgers, grilled in the open and dished up as juicy burgers to wash down with cool drinks. With salads on the side you are sure to love the combination. Burger’s southwestern style

Ingredients to use

  • 1 can of chopped green chilies
  • 1/4th cup of Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp of hickory liquid smoke
  • ½ cup of crushed crackers, butter flavored
  • 1 tsp of chili powder
  • 2 tsp of ground cumin powder
  • ½ tsp of salt and pepper each
  • 2 pounds of lean beef, grounded
  • ½ pound of pork sausage
  • 8 slices of cheese, pepper jack variety
  • 8 sesame seeded hamburger buns
  • Tomato slices and lettuce leaves

Directions to use

Add in the seasoning ingredients like sauces, chilies, cumin and chili powder in a bowl and mix well. In another bowl, crumble the sausage and beef and create a mixture with salt and pepper. Mix in the seasoning with the meat along with the crackers. Form patties, about eight. Grill the patties over medium heat, covered, for about 5 to 7 minutes. Top of the cheese till it is melted, grill the buns and cut them down on the middle. Toast them and then add on the patties, the cheese slices, lettuce leaves and tomato slices. You could add other toppings as you desire.

Along with the burgers you can add on a cold egg salad to make it a complete lunch in the backyard.

Ingredients to use

  • 6 eggs, hard boiled
  • 1/4th cup of mayonnaise
  • ½ cup of celery, finely chopped
  • 1/4th tsp of pepper and salt
  • 2 tsp of lemon juice
  • 1 tsp of minced onion

How to make?

Begin to prepare the salad by combining the lemon juice, onion, mayonnaise, salt and pepper. If you wish, add in a dash of Dijon mustard as well. Once the salad dressing is done, deshell the eggs and cut them up in halves to line them in a salad bowl or dish. Add in the chopped celery as well.
