Hibiscus Tea Drink Recipe (With Benefits)
INGREDIENTS
- ½ cup dried Hibiscus flowers (2 cups of fresh Hibiscus flowers)
- About 8 cups of water
- 3 tablespoon lime juice
- ¼ cup honey
While tea is a staple beverage, hibiscus tea has its own set of properties. Being responsible for lowering blood pressure, reduce hypertension, help reduce blood sugar levels and even managing menstrual cramps during the periods. It tastes good too. Plus, you get Vitamin C from the hot beverage in your cup.
DIRECTIONS
- Take a plate. For fresh flowers, remove its stalk (green part), the stamen and pistil. For dried flowers, this is not required.
- Boil the flowers in a pot where you generally prepare tea. Switch off the flame once water begins to boil. If you wish, you can add other herbs like lemon zest, basil at this point.
- Put your tea bag for 15 to 20 minutes, while it is still hot. Mix your honey for taste. Finally, strain the tea and the herbs and pour it into a cup. Serve hot.
- This tea can be served even chilled. Just put it in the refrigerator for some time and you can drink it later. At least a couple of hours or so would be fine.
TIPS
If you need it sweet, you can add sugar too, but honey is preferred.
