All this goodness in one tasty glass of turmeric milk, every Indian mother’s go-to recipe in case of cold and cough.
DIRECTIONS
- Put a pan of the flame and pour the milk in it. Bring the milk to boil, and then cool it down slightly. Add honey and vanilla extract and stir.
- In another small bowl add all the spices black pepper, ginger, and cardamom. To the boiled milk add turmeric powder and the mix of spices and simmer for a while. Pour it in a cup and sip away while still hot.
TIPS
- Instead of whole milk, you can also use soy or almond or coconut milk.
- If you do not have all the ingredients, you can make a basic version of this with just milk, turmeric powder, honey, and a pinch of black pepper.
- If you wish the milk to be less spicy, reduce the amount of black pepper powder down to a pinch.
WARNING
- If you are using solid turmeric instead of powder, do not forget to filter through a strainer before drinking.
- If making the milk for kids, decrease the quantity of turmeric and spices, as these carry a lot of heat, which in excess might not be good for little children.
