INGREDIENTS

  • 2 to 3 cups of flour
  • 4 to 5 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Spaghetti is a great weekend meal for a change. If you have been buying boxed noodles always, give a try to homemade ones. You can make them on your own as well with some extra minutes and dedication over a weekend. With some help from your partner, it is a great time spent together.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Bring a bowl. Ina medium-sized bowl, crack and beat the eggs properly. Whisk them for consistency.  Don’t forget to add salt to the eggs.
  2. Knead the dough. Add about a cup of flour to the bowl, and begin kneading the dough together. If it feels sticky, add one spoon of flour and continue. Continue this till it does not feel sticky anymore and is together nicely. Let it rest in the bowl for like an hour or two.

  1. Make roti or chapattis. Cut the dough into small pieces and start rolling them into thin sheets. Put some flour on both sides and continue rolling till it is thin enough. Use a spaghetti cutter or a knife to cut small strips like spaghetti.
  2. You can keep them like it aside or cook them just as you would normally. This is the same as opening spaghetti from boxed noodles. Your spaghetti is now ready.

TIPS

Keep the Bolognese sauce ready. Once you have cooked your homemade spaghetti, mix it and enjoy.

WARNING

Do not let the stripes stick together. Use flour to keep them apart. Freeze them and store.
