Turmeric Soup Recipes
INGREDIENTS
- Olive oil – 1-2 tablespoons
- Onion- 1 (diced)
- Fresh ginger – 1 tablespoon (minced finely)
- Garlic cloves – 4-5
- Turmeric powder – 1-2 teaspoons
- Mustard seed (optional) – ¼ teaspoon
- Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Coriander – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – ¾ – 1 teaspoon
- Water- 4 cups
- Veggie or chicken stock – 4 cups
- Squeeze of lime juice or lemon juice – to taste
This is a detoxing soup and like everything associated with turmeric, it is extremely healthy and beneficial for your health.
DIRECTIONS
- In a base pot or Dutch broiler. Sauté onion in 1-2 tablespoons oil of olive over medium warmth for 5 minutes until fragrant and brilliant. Add ginger, garlic, and turmeric (crisp) and sauté it for 2-3 minutes until the garlic starts to give out its fragrance.
- Then add the seeds of mustard, cumin, coriander, and turmeric powder and sauté 1-2 additional minutes. And then add salt, stock, and water. Convey to a stew.
- Add the lemon juice as per your taste. Further add salt, lime to the level to your preference. Now you will have a tasty base to add what you like.
- You can have the soup in this form or add veggies like carrots, cauliflowers or chickpeas to make it more flavorful. You can likewise refrigerate or solidify this for later use.
TIPS
- You can also use pure ghee in place of oil of olive, and instead of the juice of lemon, cider vinegar (apple) can also be used.
- You can also use noodles to add to the texture of the soup.
- Other discretionary options: celery, broccoli, celery root, fennel, tomatoes, cauliflower, chile pepper, carrots, greens and to make it rich, include coconut milk for a creamy texture.
WARNING
If using fresh turmeric instead of powder, use a comparatively less amount, and so not be concerned for the contrast in color. Fresh turmeric gives a dark coloration as compared to the powder.
